Peterborough show dry run - 21st February

Saturday 11th February 2012

After a severly weather affected Milton Keynes show we are hoping the snow stays away for the Peterborough show on Saturday 3rd March. Dry run for this show will be at the next club night (21st February) and it would be really good to see some more members joining in with the club display.

Milton Keynes show dry run - 24th January

Wednesday 11th January 2012

The start of the show season is upon us already! Things kick off for us with the Milton Keynes show on Sunday 5th February. We will be holding a dry run for the club stand at the next club night on 24th January. All club members are welcomed and encouraged to display their models on the stand, but please remind yourselves of the rules for displaying on the club stand before the dry run.

Social Evening - 27th December

Thursday 22nd December 2011

It was agreed at the AGM that as the Southfields community centre will probably be closed on the next scheduled club night (27th December) we will instead hold the now traditional Christmas social evening. This will be held in the King William pub, Kempston, on the 27th December from about 7:30pm onwards. Hope to see you there.

The next regular club night at the Southfields centre will be 10th January from 7pm onwards

AGM - 13th December

Tuesday 6th December 2011

The next club night (13th December) will also include the club's annual general meeting. This will start about 8pm and normally lasts about 45 mins. The rest of the evening will be model making, drinking tea and chatting, same as usual! The AGM is your chance to have your say in how your club is run and who the committee members are so please make every effort to attend. If you can't make it but have something you want raised in your absence please contact one of the committee members and ask them to raise the issue on your behalf.

Letchworth Show Gallery

Monday 21st November 2011

What will probably be the final gallery of the year has been added to the galleries page. This is photos of the club stand at the Letchworth show at the end of October. This show marks the retirment of quite a lot of models from the club display with the Bosses P47, Andy's Star Wars tank, several of Bob's 1/35th armour and Tom's 1/32nd Spitfire, 1/32nd BF109E7 along with the Waiting, Sturmovik and Jelymold dioramas all heading into retirement! Time to get building ready for Milton Keynes in February!

Final dry run of the year

Friday 14th October 2011

The clubs last show of the year is the Letchworth show on 30th October so the next club night (18th October) will be the dry run for the Letchworth show. The competition is judged off the table so anyone wishing to go gong hunting will need to keep those models seperate from the club display.
Cheers
Tom

Congratulations Louise and Hadleigh

Wednesday 5th October 2011

I'm sure everybody will join me in saying and huge congratulations to Louise and Hadleigh on the birth of daughter Kleigh Louise who arrived at 6:30am yesterday morning weighing in at 6lb 7oz. Very best wishes from all of us at the club!

Back on the show trail

Monday 12th September 2011

After what seems like a very long gap without a show over the summer months the club is finally back on the display circuit at the Brampton show which is held at the Burgess Hall in St Ives on Sunday 25th September. Dry run for the club stand for this show will be held at the next club night on Tuesday 20th September. Historically this has been a popular show for club members to attend so please make sure you bring models or placeholders along to the dry run and that you refresh your memories of the rules for displaying at shows.

New Gallery!

Wednesday 7th September 2011

It's been a while, but we finally have a new set of photo's in the gallery! Several of the show regulars took the club display and make and take to the Kempston fun day on 27th August. Sadly we were located in the Addison centre itself which was a couple of hundred yards away from the main fun day and a lack of signs saw very few visitors. We had three new models debuted on the stand and different people found different ways of killing time, see the galleries page for more!

Bromham Village show

Wednesday 6th July 2011

Something a little bit different for the club this weekend as we are attending the Bromham village show. Not only will we have our usual superb club display on show, but also Mark's (heavily stocked) Help for Hero's model shop and, for the first time this year, we are running (in association with Airfix) a buy and build.

This will give children (and more than likely a few dads) the chance to purchase an airfix spitfire and then build and paint it there and then with help / supervision from club members, before taking their finished masterpiece home on a custom airfix model carrier!

Weather permitting the show will also feature a flypast from the BBMF Lanc as it transits to or from Flying Legends over at Duxford.

It all takes place at Bromham Village hall (Village Road, Bromham, Beds,MK43 8JP) from 1pm on Sunday 10th July. Hope to see some of you there.
